LaRose earns over $1M just 3 months into Ohio Senate campaign.

Republican Candidate Frank‍ LaRose Raises Over $1 Million in Ohio Senate Bid

Republican ⁤candidate ‌Frank LaRose has made a significant impact in his Ohio Senate bid, raising more than $1 million ⁢in just three months. This puts the secretary‍ of state ⁤in a strong position ⁣as he faces a ‍crowded primary field in the crucial battleground state.

LaRose reported a haul of $1,041,657 during‌ the third fundraising quarter, with ⁣approximately $868,679 cash on hand. These ‌impressive numbers, revealed in a campaign finance report filed⁢ with the Federal Election ⁢Commission, show LaRose trailing ‌behind primary opponents Bernie Moreno and Matt ⁣Dolan⁤ in terms of overall fundraising. However, when considering externally raised funds, LaRose is on par with his competition.

LaRose’s Competitors Rely on Self-Funding

While Moreno ⁢and Dolan raised about $4 million ⁣during the⁣ third quarter, it’s important to note that both‍ candidates injected around $3 million of their own money ⁢into their campaigns. In ⁣contrast, LaRose‌ has chosen not to ⁣self-fund, according to his ‍campaign.

“Despite Frank not⁣ being a self-funder and while his‌ primary opponents will rely on their family⁤ fortunes to finance their ⁤latest ⁤Senate bids, our campaign will have more⁤ than enough ⁢resources to compete and win the primary,” his campaign said in a‍ memo obtained by the Washington Examiner. “But there ‌are⁤ things that money cannot buy in politics, and that is political support and ⁤outstanding polling numbers that ‍back⁤ up this momentum.”

Strong ⁤Polling Numbers and Broad ‍Support

Internal polling conducted by the LaRose campaign shows that the secretary of state is ⁢leading his opponents⁢ by nearly 10 points. Additionally, he has garnered ⁣the backing ‍of over 250 conservative leaders‌ in Ohio and ⁤has established leadership teams ⁣across all 88 counties in the ⁢state.

However, LaRose ⁣may face challenges as Dolan reported ⁤having nearly $7‌ million ⁤in ⁤the bank and Moreno has approximately $5 million ‌cash on hand heading into the‌ third quarter. Nevertheless, both⁣ candidates launched their⁣ bids earlier than ⁤LaRose, leaving the primary‌ outcome uncertain.

Ohio ⁤Senate Race and the Balance of Power

LaRose’s Senate bid comes as incumbent Sen.⁢ Sherrod Brown (D-OH) is considered one of the most vulnerable Democratic incumbents in the Senate. Ohio, a state won by former President Donald Trump ‌in 2020, ⁢is ⁣seen as a toss-up in the upcoming election cycle.

In⁢ the 2024 election, there are 34 Senate seats up for grabs,⁢ with Democrats defending 23 and Republicans defending 11. This puts the GOP in a strong position to potentially⁤ shift the balance of power in the⁢ upper chamber by flipping crucial Senate seats.

Currently, Democrats⁤ hold a slim 51-49 ⁣majority ⁤in the Senate,‌ with ⁢Vice ‌President Kamala Harris serving ⁢as a⁢ tiebreaker⁢ vote if needed.⁣ If ‍Republicans win⁤ back the White House in 2024, they only need to flip one Senate seat to secure the ‍majority. If they fail to regain the Oval Office, the party must secure⁣ two additional Senate seats.

LaRose’s Fundraising Strategy

“Frank has been tireless in his‍ efforts to connect with ⁤voters and build relationships,” ⁤said a campaign volunteer. “He has traveled extensively throughout the state, attending fundraisers, town halls, ⁤and community events. He has made it a⁣ priority⁣ to listen ‍to the concerns of Ohioans and present his solutions for a better future.”

In addition to his extensive⁣ outreach efforts, LaRose has utilized social‌ media platforms to⁢ engage ⁤with voters and spread his message. He⁣ has actively ⁣maintained a strong online presence, sharing updates, videos, and personal stories that⁢ resonate with ⁣his audience.

“Frank understands the importance of ⁢connecting with voters in today’s‍ digital age,” said a digital strategist involved in LaRose’s campaign. “By leveraging social media platforms, he has ‌been able⁤ to reach a wide range of voters, particularly younger demographics who are often difficult to engage through traditional campaign methods.”

Implications for the Ohio Senate Race

With⁣ his impressive fundraising numbers, LaRose has ‌positioned himself as a serious contender in the⁤ Ohio Senate race. In a⁣ crowded‌ field of ‌candidates, his ability⁤ to raise over $1 million in such a short ‌period of time speaks to his‍ strong support base and widespread appeal.

“Frank’s fundraising success demonstrates that⁤ he has the backing of⁢ Ohioans who believe in his ⁢ability‌ to represent their interests in the Senate,” said a political analyst. “In a closely contested race, a candidate’s fundraising ‍prowess can often be the determining ⁤factor in their⁤ success.”

As the primary election approaches, LaRose will continue to build‍ momentum and ⁤secure additional funding. With a solid financial ⁢foundation and a ‌well-executed campaign strategy, he is ⁣well-positioned to navigate‌ the challenges of the ‌primary race and emerge as the Republican nominee for the Ohio Senate seat.
