Law firm sues National Archives for 5,400 Biden pseudonym emails.
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Faces Lawsuit Over Joe Biden’s Pseudonym Emails
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is currently embroiled in a legal battle to release approximately 5,400 emails connected to then-Vice President Joe Biden’s pseudonym accounts. These emails are believed to contain important government information and discussions involving Biden, his son Hunter Biden, and others.
“All too often, public officials abuse their power by using it for their personal or political benefit,” said Kimberly Hermann, general counsel for the Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF), the organization behind the lawsuit. “When they do, many seek to hide it. The only way to preserve governmental integrity is for NARA to release Biden’s nearly 5,400 emails to SLF and thus the public. The American public deserves to know what is in them.”
The SLF filed a federal lawsuit against NARA after the agency failed to produce a single email despite confirming the existence of Biden’s personal pseudonym email accounts. These accounts were registered under the names Robin Ware, Robert L. Peters, and JRB Ware. The SLF has been pushing for transparency and accountability, seeking to uncover any potential wrongdoing or conflicts of interest involving Biden and his son.
Investigating Allegations of Foreign Business Dealings
The SLF initiated its investigation into Biden’s emails after submitting a Freedom of Information Act request in June. The group identified thousands of potentially relevant records from NARA, hoping to shed light on allegations that Biden communicated with Hunter regarding his foreign business dealings dating back to 2017.
SLF attorneys first requested the release of Biden’s emails in 2021, but NARA officials claimed they did not have custody of his records before January 2017. They stated that the emails could only be made public in January 2022. Frustrated by the agency’s delays, the SLF decided to take legal action.
“Public transparency is the most vital check the citizens have for holding our political class accountable,” emphasized Braden Boucek, litigation director for the SLF. “After over a year of trying to work with NARA, its continued unreasonable delays have forced SLF to file this lawsuit.”
House Republicans Join the Investigation
The lawsuit comes as House Republicans intensify their investigation into President Biden’s alleged use of a fake name to conceal his identity. Oversight Chairman James Comer sent a letter to NARA, requesting all unredacted records and communications related to Biden’s official duties as vice president. Of particular interest are any documents that overlap with Hunter’s activities at Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, where he served on the board for several years.
Comer also seeks records in which Biden allegedly used a pseudonym, as well as any communications involving Hunter’s former business partners, Eric Schwerin and Devon Archer. Additionally, the committee is interested in obtaining all drafts of Biden’s speech delivered to Ukraine’s parliament in December 2015.
“The Committee is concerned that foreign nationals have sought access and influence by engaging in lucrative business relationships with high-profile political figures’ immediate family members, including members of the Biden family,” wrote Comer in his letter.
A spokesperson from NARA assured The Daily Wire that the agency has received the request and will respond in accordance with the requirements of the Presidential Records Act.
