Report: Climate Alarmism Journalism and Claims Debunked by Left-Wing Groups
Five non-profit organizations published a report Wednesday was the day that mainstream media denied the dire effects of this year’s climate change crisis. They also received millions of dollars for climate coverage.
The “Climate Fact Check 2022” Report by the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the Heartland Institute and Energy & Environment Legal Institute, Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow, and the International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC), highlighted ten fact check of climate disaster claims made in media outlets such as The Associated Press which received $8 million from left-wing philanthropy organizations to cover climate change.
“Climate alarmists and their media allies once again made a slew of claims about natural disasters being caused by manmade emissions in 2022,” The report is as follows. “And once again, these claims clashed with reality and science.”
The report states that The Associated Press has received donations from large foundations supporting climate alarmism over the past decade. These groups include the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and Quadrivium. The Rockefeller Foundation and the Walton Family Foundation.
The report also included an example from an article by Seth Borenstein (AP reporter), called “New abnormal: Climate disaster damage ‘down’ to $268 billion,” According to this report, some natural disasters such as the floods in Pakistan and Hurricane Ian, along with droughts ranging from Europe to China, were worldwide. “turbocharged by human-caused climate change.”
Climate Fact Check reported that the Pakistan floods, along with the 2022 monsoon season, were within the ranges of natural variability. They also were the wettest events since 1961.
“If emissions are to blame, why was it so rainy then?” The report is as follows. “Also, average peak monsoonal rainfall actually has declined somewhat since the 1950s,” Additionally, the ongoing deforestation is causing more seasonal monsoon flooding.
Mainstream media outlets blamed Hurricane Ian, the category four disaster that was the deadliest hurricane to strike Florida since 1935, on climate change for the storm’s rapid intensification. The report still refers to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration which states that Atlantic basin hurricane activity has returned to natural variability following a historically quiet start of hurricane season.
BBC News reported Europe’s worst drought in 500-years. But, the report asks whether the absence of rain was caused by emissions from SUVs, coal-fired power plant, and cheeseburgers. Then, what happened to the European megadrought in 2015?
“Is this money funding actual journalism or just rank political activism?” The report questions.
The Associated Press published a report earlier this year revealing that $8 million was received from various groups over three-years. It also revealed that more than 24 journalists were employed by the media group to cover stories around the globe. “climate issues.”
Fox News reported Brian Carovillano, Vice President of AP News, claimed that he accepts money only “without strings attached,” The news media cannot be added to stories that have been influenced or influenced in any way.
Fox News Digital spoke with Steve Milloy (a senior legal associate at the Energy & Environment Legal Institute). “it’s hard to claim [The Associate Press] is news” When the reporters only cover one side of climate discourse, the organization was a “propaganda outfit” Leftist organizations with climate agendas.
Milloy claimed that leftist media networks are pushing “climate hysteria” For 30 years, with very little to prove their dire predictions.
“Instead of moving on to something else, they’re doubling down on this, and they’re making themselves look worse at the same time,” He concluded.
The non-profit groups also conducted fact checks on other media giants, such as The Washington Post and The New York Times.
“But are damages from those disasters really attributable to ‘climate change’ or are climate activists and their media mouthpieces just trying to surf human tragedy to advance their very political cause?” The report is as follows.
" Conservative News Daily does not always share or support the views and opinions expressed here; they are just those of the writer."
