So now, Menendez and his wife are facing three federal charges of conspiracy for bribery, conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, and conspiracy to commit extortion under color of official right.”
Despite the allegations, Menendez denied them in a statement, dismissing them as “baseless.” He also criticized the prosecutors, accusing them of misrepresenting the normal work of a congressional office.
