Legacy Media Scramble To Recover, Claim Police ‘Misidentified’ Gender Of Nashville Shooter
Legacy media outlets are disturbed that authorities in Nashville” misidentified” the identity of the medically adult shooter who killed six people on Monday morning at a Christian school, including three 9-year-old children.
USA Today wrote in a tweet thread update that “Police on Monday afternoon said that the shooter was a transgender man. Officials had initially misidentified the gender of the shooter.” The New York Times also issued a statement, attempting to clear up “confusion” about the shooter’s gender.
“There was confusion later on Monday about the gender identity of the assailant in the Nashville shooting,” the Times said. “Officials had used ‘she’ and ‘her’ to refer to the suspect, who, according to a social media post and a LinkedIn profile, appeared to identify as a man in recent months.”
The 28-year-old shooter, who The Daily Wire did not mark in accordance with company policy, shot and killed three kids and three grownups at the Covenant School before police intervened and exchanged gunfire with him. He was struck and died at 10:27 a.m., just 14 minutes after the first call to police was made. John Drake, the chief of police in Nashville, described the taking as a” targeted harm.”
A natural parent who identified as a man was the sniper. The Metro Nashville Police Department and Police Chief John Drake referred to the gunman as a person and used her natural feminine pronouns throughout the day in news events and updates. However, the female shooter used” he / him” pronouns on social media, prompting statements about gender identity to be published in the past by legacy media outlets.
Local government and the FBI searched the feminine shooter’s home on Monday afternoon. Law enforcement claimed to have discovered” a statement” and detailed maps of the school with access points during the investigation. Authorities have a notion about the gunman’s motivation, according to the police chief, but they are not yet ready to share it.
The six victims were identified by the law, and they include three 9-year-old kids and three adult 60 years of age and older.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the victims are “Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, all age 9, Cynthia Peak, age 61, Katherine Koonce, age 60, and Mike Hill, age 61.” Katherine Koonce was the head of the Covenant School.
Children are educated from daycare through fifth grade at The Covenant School, a private Christian college in Nashville’s upscale Green Hills neighborhood. The school enrolls between 195 and 210 students, according to its site.
