‘Liar!’ Republicans Epically Fact-Check Biden’s Social Security and Medicare Fear Mongering In Real-Time

President Joe Biden claimed that Republicans were trying to reduce Medicare and Social Security in his State of the Union address Tuesday. The right side of the aisle responded with raucous booing, with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene shouting out “liar!”

The Republican’s visceral response to Biden’s false claim threw the president off-scriptHe began to stumble and lost his words, eventually walking back his entire statement. “That means Congress doesn’t vote. I am glad you see ya — no, I tell ya, I enjoy conversion,” stuttered Biden. “You know, it means that if Congress doesn’t keep the programs the way they are, those programs will go away — other Republicans say — I’m not saying it’s a majority of you, I don’t even think it is significant. But it’s being proposed by individuals. I’m not — politely not — naming them, but it’s being proposed by some of you.”

Of course, the reason the president isn’t naming names is that there aren’t any. No Congressional Republicans plan to reduce Social Security or Medicare. This is classic dishonesty. Democrat scare tactic

The president eventually admitted that he was lying and relented. “So folks, as we all apparently agree, Social Security and Medicare is off the books now, right?” Biden said this, prompting the GOP’s triumphant applause. The president had basically abandoned his entire narrative. “All right. We got unanimity,” continued Biden. “So tonight, let’s all agree — and we apparently are — let’s stand up for seniors.”

Had the GOP not fact-checked the president in real-time, the propaganda press would likely promote and validate Biden’s lie even further. Fortunately, thanks to the gusto of Congressional Republicans, the takeaway from Biden’s Social Security and Medicare fear-mongering will not be imaginary GOP cuts, but instead all the booing, MTG calling Biden a liar, and the president ultimately renouncing his own narrative.
