‘Lia’s Got Some Serious Balls’: Gutfeld Mocks Lia Thomas For Telling Women How To Behave
Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld Slams Lia Thomas for Criticizing Women Athletes
Former University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas, who identifies as a woman, recently accused women athletes who criticize her participation in women’s sports of being “transphobic” but too afraid to admit it. Speaking on former NCAA swimmer Schuyler Bailar’s podcast, Thomas claimed that seeing men as men and women as women was derived from “patriarchal ideas.”
Greg Gutfeld of Fox News was quick to criticize Thomas for telling women how to behave. “First, I gotta give the swimmer some credit. Lia’s got some serious balls,” he mocked. “I mean, to tell feminists how to be a feminist, you gotta say that’s pretty gutsy.”
Why Men Who Identify as Women in Sports Are a Problem
Gutfeld argued that men who identify as women and win in women’s sports are essentially “line cutters.” He also expressed concern about the fairness of allowing individuals to compete in female sports after undergoing sex changes, especially when it involves children. “It sets off an alarm, and you immediately get the feeling, no, this isn’t fair,” he declared.
Gutfeld also pointed out that the focus on personal happiness has shifted the world’s attention away from the happiness of other athletes who have worked hard to win. “Their happiness means more … because they spent years practicing, they’ve put in the hours, they’re winners, and now they’ve gotta look and go, ‘Well, not winning anymore,’” he concluded.
