The Air Force Academy Honors American Heroes from World War II with Alternate Football Uniforms
The Air Force Academy recently made an exciting announcement on X, formerly Twitter, that their upcoming college football season will feature alternate uniforms paying homage to the Doolittle Raiders from World War II.

The Air Force Academy Falcons have been wearing alternate uniforms for select games since 2016, honoring significant moments in American air warfare history, and the Doolittle Raid is one of the most memorable.
In April 1942, just five months after the devastating attack on Pearl Harbor, Lt. Col. James Doolittle led a group of B-25 bombers in a daring raid against Tokyo and other targets, marking the first American bombing of Japan during the war.
The Doolittle Raid served as a morale booster for a nation still recovering from the shock of Pearl Harbor and facing Japanese advances in the Pacific. It showcased America’s resilience and determination to fight back.
The alternate uniforms will feature white jerseys and pants, with the words “Ever Into Peril” written down the legs. The jerseys will have numbers resembling aircraft parts, complete with rivets. The chrome helmets will bear the inscription “B-25” on the front, along with imagery of the planes and patches on the sides.
These uniforms are a tribute to the brave Doolittle Raiders, a group of American heroes who inspired the nation during the darkest days of World War II and played a significant role in America’s ultimate victory.

It’s important to note that these alternate uniforms were not created with any malice towards Japan, a country that has since become a key American ally. Instead, they serve as a way to honor the heroes of America.
Perhaps the outrage over the helmet stems from a narrative pushed by some liberals, who portray America as an evil, racist nation. They seem unable to tolerate any celebration of American achievements.
Now, more than ever, we need to be reminded of the greatness of our nation and the sacrifices made by brave men to defend it. These alternate uniforms are a creative and powerful way to achieve that.
