The application period opened on July 10 and will close on Aug. 11. This program, funded through the American Rescue Plan Act, offers a one-time crisis grant that qualified applicants do not have to pay back.
Eligibility and Benefits
If you are eligible, you can earn up to $2,500 towards past-due water bills and potentially receive a maximum of $2,500 for your wastewater bill. To qualify for the grant, you must have received a notice that your water service will be shut off within the next 60 days, own or rent your home, and meet the required household income limit.
Application Process
When applying, make sure to gather the necessary documents, including a recent water bill and the names, birth dates, and proof of income of all household members. Once approved, your water provider is required to keep the service turned on for at least 90 days.
