People’s Republic of China (PRC), which considers Taiwan part of China’s territory, has been developing military capabilities to force Taiwan to accept unification. Over the last few years, PRC has intensified its military efforts. Are the Chinese getting ready to wage war on Taiwan?
A panel discussion will take place at 10:00 am. ET on March 10, 2010 by the United States Institute of Peace. Alexander Chiehcheng Huang, a Professor of Institute of Strategic Studies at Tamkang University; Phil Saunders Director of Center for the Study of Chinese Military Affairs National Defense University; Andrew Scobell Distinguished Fellow, U.S. Institute of Peace. Joel Wuthnow Senior Research Fellow, Center for the Study of Chinese Military Affairs National Defense University.
Jennifer Staats, Director of East and Southeast Asia Programs, U.S. Institute of Peace will moderate the discussion.
