Lizzo: “Cancel Culture Is Appropriation”
Lizzo is the leader of the wake charge via her social media pulpit.

And she’s been doing it for some time now. This missive was written in 2017, the year of the unofficial beginning of the woke movement.
The superstar isn’t immune to the woke mob, though, despite her progressive bona fides.

Lizzo swapped the word “spaz” From her song “Grrrls” After critics called the lyrics “lyricist” last year “ableist.” She also gained heat when she claimed that she had a 10-day smoothie plan, which some suggested was indeed designed. To lose weight.
Dieting for health is frowned upon in woke-world. “fatphobic.” Lizzo is proud and loud about her figure, and encourages everyone to be happy with their bodies, no matter what size.
So the singer’s cryptic Tweet over the weekend likely caught some by surprise.
This may be a random time to say this but it’s on my heart.. cancel culture is appropriation.
There was real outrage from truly marginalized people and now it’s become trendy, misused and misdirected.
I hope that we can stop this madness and instead focus our anger on the true problems.

- She’s reacting to a recent surge of “woke”Articles that are based on -themes The word itself is a product of black culture, suggesting that it was coined.. It is cultural appropriation as well as something worse.
The Guardian recently attacked woke critics and called it a fight against a “made-up menace.”
It’s just one text, but the phrasing suggests the subject is top of mind for a high priestess of the woke movement.
