Search Underway for Suspect in Fatal Stabbing on Metro B Red Line Train
LOS ANGELES—A search is underway for a person who fatally stabbed a 23-year-old man during an argument aboard a Metro B Red Line train in the downtown area.
The stabbing occurred around 5:20 p.m. on Sept. 7 while the suspect and the victim were traveling on the subway train from Union Station. The suspect drew a knife during the argument and stabbed the victim in the chest, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers were called to the scene and found the victim on a platform at the Pershing Square Station, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he later died, LAPD Officer Tony Im told City News Service.
Police were searching for the suspect, who was last seen going up the stairs from the underground station, authorities said.
The police investigation caused trains to bypass the station, Metro’s Patrick Chandler told City News Service.
The suspect was described as a metro train.”>6-foot-tall man weighing 180 pounds with black hair. He was last seen wearing dark-colored clothing and carrying a black backpack, police said.
Another man was stabbed on Sept. 1 on a Metro A Blue Line train near the Southwest Museum Station in Highland Park. The suspect in that case was a man in his 30s or 40s who was also carrying a black backpack, police said.
