A Majority of Voters Express Concerns About President Biden’s Health
A recent NBC News poll reveals that a significant number of voters have raised concerns about President Joe Biden’s mental and physical well-being, particularly in relation to the demands of his role as commander-in-chief.
According to the poll, a staggering 68% of respondents have major or moderate concerns about Biden’s mental and physical health in relation to his job as president. In contrast, only 32% have minor or no concerns about his health.
Concerns About Biden’s Ability to Serve a Full Term
Furthermore, the poll indicates that 60% of those surveyed also harbor major or moderate concerns about Biden’s ability to complete another four-year term, while only 40% have minor or no concerns.
If President Biden were to be reelected in 2024, he would be 82 years old on inauguration day in 2025 and 86 years old upon leaving office on January 20, 2029. Currently, he holds the distinction of being the oldest president in U.S. history. Former President Donald Trump, the frontrunner in the Republican presidential primary, was the second oldest president based on his age at the time he assumed office.
Similar Concerns About Trump’s Health
The poll also reveals that voters expressed concerns about the mental and physical health of former President Donald Trump. 55% of respondents indicated major or moderate concerns, while only 44% had minor or no concerns about his well-being.
When asked about Trump’s ability to serve a full term if elected in 2024, 58% expressed major or moderate concerns, compared to 42% who had minor or no concerns. If Trump were to be elected in 2024, he would be 78 years old on inauguration day in 2025 and 82 years old upon leaving office on January 20, 2029.

Trump Maintains Strong Lead in Republican Primary
The same poll also indicates that Trump continues to hold a commanding lead in the Republican primary field, with 51% of respondents supporting him. Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida comes in as the next closest candidate with 22% of the vote.
In a hypothetical general election match-up between Trump and Biden, the current president leads with 49% compared to Biden’s 45%. Meanwhile, DeSantis and Biden remain tied at 47% each.
