Man, 23, Pleads Guilty to Fatal DUI Crash in Huntington Beach
SANTA ANA—A 23-year-old man pleaded guilty Mar. 3 and immediately sentenced to four year imprisonment for a DUI-fuelled accident in Huntington Beach that resulted in his death.
According to court records, Miguel Angel Guzman Jr. plead guilty to gross vehicular murder while intoxicated. According to court records, he accepted a plea bargain from Judge Andre Manssourian of Orange County Superior Court.
According to Huntington Beach police, rescue crews were called to Springdale Street at 12:50 AM Aug. 23, 2020 to free Lance Jones, 25, of Moreno Valley, from the wreckage of Guzman’s vehicle. The defendant crashed into a light pole.
Jones succumbed to his injuries at 5:21 a.m. on the same day at UC Irvine Medical Center.
