Man arrested for alleged bomb threats in Pittsburgh

A Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania man is facing charges for allegedly threatening to blow up a federal building.

Police say 60-year-old Albert Morris Jr. allegedly called 9-1-1 Monday and told a dispatcher a bomb would go off in the William S. Moorhead Building in the city’s downtown.

Authorities evacuated the building and used bomb-sniffing dogs to ensure there were no explosives in the facility.

Police later traced the call to a home in Pittsburgh and eventually arrested Morris, who admitted he made the threat because the government owed him money.

Workers who were evacuated, including David Richard, said they were shocked over the incident.

“Little alarmed, little nervous, that’s about it though,” he stated. “As long as I got out and got to my safety and my co-workers got to their safety, that’s all I really care about.”

Authorities did not find any explosives in Morris’ home. He’s being charged with making terroristic threats and threatening to use a weapon of mass destruction.
