A Japanese Man’s Dream of Becoming an Animal Comes True with a $14,000 Collie Dog Costume
A Japanese man named Toco recently made headlines when he stepped out in public wearing a custom-made collie dog costume. Toco, who identifies as a dog, fulfilled his childhood dream of “becoming an animal” with this hyper-realistic disguise.
Toco, who has a popular YouTube channel called “I want to be an animal” with over 42,000 subscribers, shared a video of his first walk in his new dog costume. The video shows him playing on a lawn, rolling around on the street, and even interacting with other dogs, all while dressed as a collie.

In the video, Toco explains that he had always wanted to be a dog since he was a child. He recalls writing in his grade school graduation book about his desire to be a dog and walk outside. The video of his outing as a human “collie” has already garnered six million views.
The collie costume, which took 40 days to make, was created by the company Zeppet. It cost Toco approximately $14,161 or 2 million yen. Zeppet has published detailed pictures of the costume on their website, showcasing its realistic appearance.

Toco revealed that the video was filmed last year during an interview with a German television station. He expressed his joy at fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming an animal and emphasized his long-standing desire to be an animal.
In a previous video, Toco answered questions about his desire to be a collie. He explained that he chose the collie breed because it is his favorite and because collies are similar in size to humans. Toco also admitted that he usually keeps his desire to be an animal a secret from others due to the fear of being judged.
“If anyone notices who I am, please don’t tell anyone around me!” Toco pleaded.
