D.C. Metropolitan Police have been on the hunt for three to four suspects who kidnapped at least five people at gunpoint over the past week.
Commander John Haines of D.C Metropolitan Police stated, “it’s very unusual to have anyone kidnapped and this is exactly what they’re doing.”
The victims were forced into a vehicle and taken to an area ATM, where they were ordered to withdraw money before being let go. The first incident took place on August 24, when police said one suspect flashed a gun at the victim while the others forced him into a vehicle.

The suspects then drove the victim to multiple ATMs and withdrew money before they freed the victim and fled the scene. The violent crime spree didn’t stop there.
“In at least two of the cases we know that they used what is described as zip ties to tie the individuals hand togethers as they are putting them in the car,” Commander Haines explained. “They are blind folding them at different manners.”
Authorities believe the suspects were using a stolen vehicle, which has since been recovered. Police have released video and photos of the suspects and asked anyone with information to contact them.
