Greene seeks to impeach FBI Director Wray.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Introduces Articles of Impeachment Against FBI Director Christopher Wray

On Tuesday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) made headlines by introducing articles of impeachment against FBI Director Christopher Wray. The move comes after accusations that Wray has failed to uphold his oath and lost the trust of U.S. citizens to “faithfully execute the laws” of the United States.

Greene’s Accusations Against Wray

In her statement, Greene accused Wray of turning the FBI into President Joe Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland’s personal police force. She also highlighted several grievances against Wray, including the treatment of anti-abortion activists and Catholics, investigative tactics employed against former President Donald Trump, and the criminal investigation into the president’s son Hunter Biden.

Wray and the FBI have increasingly become top targets of criticism among Republicans ever since the 2016 election. Some have even called for the bureau to be defunded or even disbanded.

DOJ Defends Wray and Graves

The Department of Justice (DOJ) released a statement defending Wray and U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves, who Greene also introduced articles of impeachment against. The DOJ spokesperson called both men dedicated public servants who have committed their careers to keeping our country safe.

Will Greene’s Bid to Remove Wray Succeed?

It remains to be seen whether Greene’s bid to remove Wray from office will garner sufficient support in the House, which is narrowly controlled by Republicans. Even if it did succeed, conviction would be unlikely in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

Regardless of the outcome, Greene’s move has once again put the spotlight on the FBI and its leadership, and it will be interesting to see how this story develops in the coming days and weeks.
