Marjorie Taylor Greene to leverage new committee role against Ukraine aid.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Continues to Call for an End to Aid for Ukraine
At the Turning Point Action conference, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) passionately expressed her belief that the United States should stop providing aid to Ukraine in its war with Russia. She referred to the conflict as “a proxy war with Russia” and vowed to keep fighting against the National Defense Authorization Act’s support and weapons for Ukraine.
Last week, Greene’s amendment to remove $300 million in funding for Ukraine was rejected by a vote of 89-341 in the House of Representatives. Despite the setback, she remains determined and optimistic about her role in the conference committee.
Greene’s Role in the Conference Committee
Greene shared the good news that she has been appointed to the conference committee, which aims to reconcile the differences between the House and Senate versions of the defense measure. She sees this as an opportunity to advocate for a strong military and peace, while also opposing further involvement in Ukraine.
She specifically addressed Senator Lindsey Graham, stating, “No more war in Ukraine, Lindsey Graham.” Greene believes that the Washington, D.C., establishment’s support for Ukraine is driven by a “sick addiction” to war.
Greene’s sentiments align with those expressed by Reps. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL), as well as Tucker Carlson, who also spoke at the conference.
Former President Donald Trump, who spoke on the first day of the conference, claimed that he could resolve the war within 24 hours if elected president in 2024. He believes that no other candidate can prevent World War III.
