Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Tweets Controversial Video of LGBT Activists
Over the weekend, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) caused a stir on social media by sharing a video of LGBT activists marching in New York City. The video captured a chant that caught the attention of many: “We’re here, we’re queer, and we’re coming for your children!”
“This movement grooms minors to have mastectomies and castration and fuels a greene-slams-video-of-drag-marchers-appearing-to-chant-they-are-coming-for-your-kids/” title=”Marjorie Taylor Greene criticizes video of drag marchers allegedly chanting about targeting children.”>multi-billion dollar medical child abuse industry,” stated the Georgia congresswoman.
The video showcased the annual drag march in New York City, starting at Tompkins Square Park and winding its way through the vibrant East Village before culminating at the historic Stonewall Inn. This iconic gay bar holds significant historical importance as it was the site of the Stonewall Riots in 1969.
In addition to sharing the video, Greene also urged Congress to take action by passing the Protect Children’s Innocence Act.
The bill, co-sponsored by fourteen other Republicans, was introduced by Greene in March. Its aim is to make it a felony to perform any gender-affirming care on a minor. Furthermore, it grants minors the ability to bring civil legal action against any individual who provided such care.
The New York City Drag March, an annual event organized by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, typically takes place on the Friday preceding the city’s Pride Parade. This year, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence were honored with the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Community Hero award during the baseball team’s Pride Night. However, the event was not without controversy, as thousands of protesters gathered prior to the ceremony.
