President-elect Donald Trump met with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg at Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.
Zuckerberg did not endorse Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election, but he did praise the president-elect after the assassination attempt against him, calling his raised-fist stance “badass.”
No information was released about the meeting. The Washington Examiner reached out to the Trump transition team to ask for details.
While he didn’t endorse Trump, the Meta CEO did congratulate him on his election victory along with several other business leaders such as Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. Zuckerberg has had a contentious relationship at times with Musk, who has been the closest to Trump of any of them. They have a social media rivalry between Zuckerberg’s Facebook and Musk’s X.
“Congratulations to President Trump on a decisive victory. We have great opportunities ahead of us as a country,” he wrote in a Threads post the day after the election. “Looking forward to working with you and your administration.”
His earlier praise of Trump was the closest Zuckerberg came to endorsing either candidate.
“On a personal note, seeing Donald Trump get up after getting shot in the face and pump his fist in the air with the American flag is one of the most badass things I’ve ever seen in my life,” Zuckerberg said.
His praise of Trump came even as the president-elect previously threatened to jail him if he was elected.
