Markwayne Mullin warns Democrats are ‘digging into’ lost issues
Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) expressed confidence that the Republican Party will succeed in the 2026 midterm elections, as he believes the Democratic Party is stubbornly adhering to issues that led to their electoral losses. In an interview on Fox News’ *Hannity*, Mullin highlighted that approximately 10 million undocumented immigrants entered the U.S. during President Biden’s administration and criticized the democrats for their stance on immigration and support for policies that, in his view, are out of touch with American voters. He referenced the presence of sympathizers for terrorist organizations in American universities and claimed Democrats prioritize illegal immigrants over American citizens. Mullin, who is also up for reelection in 2026, mentioned the lack of moderate leadership within the Democratic Party, especially following the retirement declaration of Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL). Mullin painted a picture of a political landscape that favors Republicans if Democrats continue down their current path.
Markwayne Mullin warns Democrats are ‘digging into’ lost issues
Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) predicted that as long as the Democratic Party “digs down” on losing issues, the Republican Party will win the midterm elections in 2026.
An estimated 10 million immigrants illegally entered the U.S. during President Joe Biden’s term. Now President Donald Trump is facing major pushback from Democratic lawmakers for deporting roughly 100,000 during the first 100 days of his first term.
“What’s funny is they continue digging in on these losing issues,” Mullin said of the Democratic party on Fox News’s Hannity Wednesday. “We understand that the American people voted them out of office because of this. And what has happened is, instead of them learning their lesson and saying ‘hey, look, we got it wrong. Let’s move back to the party of JFK,’ they’re moving to the party of Crockett, of AOC, and of Bernie Sanders, [who] are open socialists, and thinking the ‘woke’ movement is the direction they should be going.”
The senator went on to cite data of 250,000 Chinese nationalists currently living in the U.S. This echoes Sen. Ashley Moody’s (R-FL) comment on Florida alone seeing an increase of 8000% of Chinese immigrants crossing in.
“We have sympathizers that are sympathizing with terrorist organizations that are running our college campuses. We have Democrats that are supporting the illegal immigrants over our constitutional constituents that are true Americans here,” Mullin said. “They have chosen to dig down on losing issues, and I hate it for the American people, but I like it for the Republican Party’s chances of winning elections come the midterm.”
Mullin will also notably be up for reelection in 2026.
When it comes to new moderate leadership among Democratic lawmakers, Mullin claimed, “there’s not a lot left out there.”
KAROLINE LEAVITT BLASTS SUPPORT FOR ABREGO GARCIA: ‘SHAME ON SEN. CHRIS VAN HOLLEN’
This comes as Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), the second-highest-ranking Democrat in the Senate as the Minority Whip, announced he won’t be running for reelection. Durbin served five terms in the Senate and was the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) will replace Durbin on the committee, but it remains to be seen who will be the new Minority Whip.
