Insider sources reveal that Maryanne Trump Barry, the older sister of former President Donald Trump and a former federal judge, has passed away at the age of 86.
According to ABC News, she was found in her Fifth Avenue apartment around four in the morning. There were no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.
The sources also mentioned that emergency personnel responded to a call regarding “a person experiencing cardiac arrest.”
Barry served as a senior judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit until her retirement in 2019. She was initially appointed to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey by President Ronald Reagan in 1983. Later, President Bill Clinton nominated her to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 1999.
Barry retired amidst an investigation into potential misconduct related to her father’s and siblings’ alleged illegal tax and financial activities. However, the investigation concluded without a definitive outcome when she retired in February 2019.
With Maryanne Trump Barry’s passing, three out of the four siblings of former President Trump have now passed away. His youngest brother, Robert Trump, passed away in August 2020 at the age of 71. Fred Trump Jr., his other brother, died of a heart attack at the age of 42 in September 1981.
The relationship between the former president and his eldest sister deteriorated towards the end of Trump’s administration when Mary Trump, the former president’s niece, publicly released audio recordings of Maryanne criticizing her younger brother.
However, sources informed ABC News that the siblings had been working on reconciling their differences and had even seen each other as recently as last summer at Trump’s Bedminster, New Jersey, club.
