Your rewritten summary captures the essence of Scottie ⁢Scheffler’s victory at the ‌2024 Masters, emphasizing his ⁣gratitude towards his faith⁤ and reflective mindset post-win. Well done!

The 2024 Masters champion Scottie Scheffler was quick to credit his faith in God on Sunday after capturing his second green jacket.

“I was sitting around with my buddies this morning, and I was a bit overwhelmed because I told them, I was like, ‘I wish that I didn’t want to win as badly as I did … as badly as I do. I think it would make the mornings easier,’” Scheffler, 27, said in his post-win press conference.

“I love winning. I hate losing. I really do, and when you’re here in the biggest moments, when I’m sitting there with the lead on Sunday, I really, really want to win badly,” he added.

After expressing this to his friends, they reminded Scheffler that no matter what happens, his true identity does not lie in golf and is already secured, he said.

“My buddies told me this morning, you know, my victory was secure on the cross, and that’s a pretty special feeling to know that I’m secure for forever, and it doesn’t matter, you know, whether or not I win this tournament or if I lose this tournament,” Scheffler said.

Scheffler carded a 4-under 68 over his final 18 holes, and he finished at 11 under to secure his victory.

Faith is a massive part of his game on the course, and it is something that gives him comfort in difficult moments, according to the two-time Masters champion.

“I believe that today’s plans were already laid out, you know, many years ago, and I could do nothing to mess up those plans,” he said. “I’ve been given a gift of this talent, and I use it for God’s glory.”

“When I’m out there, I try to compete to the best of my abilities, like I said, I really want to win. I feel like that’s how I was designed. I’ve been like that since I was a young kid. That’s always been a part of me, and I don’t think that should be going away any time soon.”

There is nothing wrong with having a persistent desire to win, according to Scheffler, who is recognized as the world’s No. 1 golfer.

“But, at the end of the day, like I said, my identity is secure already, and I get to come out here and compete, have fun, enjoy it, and then, at the end of the day, my identity is secure,” he said.
