Criticism for Gaetz and Wife Backing ‘Woke’ Barbie Film
Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz and his wife Ginger criticized for attending “Barbie” film event
Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz and his wife Ginger faced backlash on Tuesday for their attendance at an event for the new “Barbie” film, which has generated controversy for promoting the LGBT agenda.
While Matt Gaetz defended their decision to watch the movie, Ginger Gaetz did not recommend it to others.
“Barbie” features the actor Hari Nef, a man who identifies as a woman. Nef described the film as “candy with a little poison” in terms of its exploration of gender themes, according to an interview with the LGBT publication Out.
Ginger Gaetz shared a photo of herself and her husband at the red carpet event for “Barbie” on Twitter, but she gave the film a lukewarm review.
“Thinking about watching the Barbie movie? I’d recommend sticking to getting outfit inspiration and skipping the theater,” she tweeted.

Gaetz expressed appreciation for Margot Robbie’s performance in the lead role, as well as the costumes and the music in the film. However, she was put off by its negative messages.
She concluded, “I really wanted to enjoy it, but ended up feeling let down.”
The Gaetzes faced immediate criticism for their support of “Barbie” and their appearance on the red carpet.
