Maye Musk argues ‘Democrats are really after’ Elon and his giveaway
Maye Musk suggested the legal battles her son, Elon Musk, has faced over his giveaway to voters illustrate how “Democrats are really after” him.
Elon Musk’s giveaway, which awards $1 million to people residing in one of seven swing states who sign a petition in support of the First Amendment and Second Amendment, came into legal jeopardy after Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner filed a civil lawsuit against the billionaire and his pro-Trump group, America PAC.
While appearing on Fox News’s The Story with Martha MacCallum on Monday, Maye Musk was asked about the legal battles her son has faced with the giveaway. She contended it is “normal” for him.
“They go after Elon for every hiccup, he gets a court order,” Maye Musk said. “This is pretty much Democratic judges or court orders. The Democrats are really after him, and most of the judges are Democrats.”
Despite Elon Musk’s endorsement of former President Donald Trump, Maye Musk added that this giveaway is not partisan since anyone who vows to support the Constitution’s first two amendments can be winners. She also said her son wants to provide “some happiness” and encouragement for voters to uphold the Constitution and support free speech.
On Monday night, Election Day eve, Common Pleas Court Judge Angelo Foglietta chose to allow Elon Musk to continue his giveaway, though he did not explain his reasoning for his ruling.
Chris Gober, Elon Musk’s lawyer, claimed that the winners of the giveaway “are not chosen by chance.” Musk and promoters of the sweepstakes have adjusted their language in recent days to suggest that winners are picked “by chance,” arguing there is a distinction between that and winners who are selected “randomly,” which is more akin to how lotteries are run.
Maye Musk also addressed the interest her son has taken in encouraging younger men to become invested in the election, and argued that this voting bloc needs to “get out and vote.”
Reaching younger voters has been a focus of Trump and his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), as they have made numerous appearances on podcasts, including The Joe Rogan Experience.
On Vice President Kamala Harris’s bid to become the first female president, Maye Musk contended that there ought to be more women presidents. However, candidates running for president “need to be able to put a sentence together,” or else they make themselves “a complete embarrassment.”
Elon Musk declared his support for Trump right after the former president narrowly survived an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. Musk has since joined Trump on the campaign trail at a subsequent rally in Butler last month and also introduced Trump at the Madison Square Garden rally in New York City.
