McCarthy to Support Biden Impeachment Inquiry

House Speaker Kevin ​McCarthy (R.) is reportedly⁢ set to back an impeachment⁤ inquiry into ‍President Joe Biden.

McCarthy will tell ‌his slim House majority on Tuesday‍ that an ‌impeachment effort is‌ “the logical next step,”​ Fox News‍ reported.

The speaker‌ is ⁤also⁣ expected to make ⁤the ⁣case for an inquiry during a ‍Thursday ‍Republican meeting where committee chairs will report their latest findings ‍into the Biden family, including the president’s role in his son Hunter’s business dealings.

McCarthy previously said an ‌inquiry would⁣ only follow a House ‌vote and that ⁢he won’t use it for political purposes.

“To open an impeachment inquiry is a serious ‌matter, and⁢ House⁤ Republicans would not take‍ it⁣ lightly or use it for ​political⁤ purposes. The‌ American people deserve to be ‍heard on this matter through‍ their elected representatives,” McCarthy told Breitbart News in August. “That’s⁤ why, if we move forward⁣ with an impeachment inquiry, it would occur through a vote on‌ the floor ​of the People’s House and not through a⁢ declaration ‍by one‍ person.”

House ​Republicans are ‌investigating potential politicization of the Justice ⁢Department’s investigation⁣ into Hunter⁤ Biden, the president’s⁤ involvement in the family’s overseas business ‍dealings,‌ and Hunter Biden’s use of government ⁤jets.

House Republicans are also set to⁣ subpoena members of the ⁣Biden family.
