McDonald’s partners with Krispy Kreme to offer doughnuts
McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme have formed a new partnership to increase sales. The collaboration involves McDonald’s offering three Krispy Kreme doughnut varieties at its stores until sold out each day. This venture was announced recently and is set to roll out nationwide later this year. Krispy Kreme’s CEO expressed excitement about providing fans broader access to their beloved doughnuts through this alliance.
McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme are partnering to help each other rake in more dough.
The new partnership, announced Tuesday, will see the golden arches sell three different kinds of Krispy Kreme doughnuts at its locations, which will be sold throughout the day until supplies last. The initial rollout of these sales will start later this year and will be available at all locations in the United States by the end of 2026.
“The top request we receive from consumers, every day, is, ‘please bring Krispy Kreme to my town,’” Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth said. “Partnering with McDonald’s on a national scale will provide our fans and doughnut lovers unprecedented daily access to fresh doughnuts and the joy that is Krispy Kreme.”
The chains tested the idea of selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts at 160 McDonald’s locations in Kentucky. Sales exceeded expectations, and these locations in the Lexington and Louisville areas will continue their doughnut sales throughout this company rollout.

McDonald’s new partnership comes after the fast food chain ditched selling various pastry items under its McCafe brand last year, which included apple fritters, blueberry muffins, and cinnamon rolls. The restaurant chain has also removed its all-day breakfast offering in recent years, which allowed customers to buy breakfast sandwiches on a more flexible schedule.
Last year, it was reported that McDonald’s intended to open a location in Chicago, called CosMc, which would focus on serving coffee and other cafe-type beverages. This new location would pit the fast food chain against other coffee chains such as Starbucks.
