Medvedev Beats Rublev in Dubai for Hard-Court Hat-Trick
Daniil Medvedev continued his impressive form with a win 6–2 6–2 over compatriot Andrey Rublev in the Dubai Tennis Championships final on Saturday, claiming his third title in three weeks.
Rublev was the defending champion and was bidding to win a second consecutive title in Dubai. He did not even have one break point during an intense battle among childhood friends which lasted for just over an hour.
Medvedev entered the final this week having never dropped a single set and ending Novak Djokovic’s streak of unbeaten semis runs. He also added last month’s title in Rotterdam and Doha to his total to 19.
