Megyn Kelly reconciles with Trump: Relationships can be rebuilt.
Megyn Kelly and Donald Trump Make Peace After Feud
Megyn Kelly recently revealed that she and former President Donald Trump have seemingly put their contentious feud behind them. The feud began after a 2015 GOP debate where Kelly, as the moderator, asked Trump about his degrading comments towards women.
During her SiriusXM show, The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly shared that she had a private conversation with Trump at the Turning Point Action conference over the weekend. She described the encounter as “frankly great” and emphasized that Trump “could not have been nicer.”
A Lesson in Rebuilding Relationships
Reflecting on their complicated history, Kelly expressed that there was a valuable lesson to be learned from their interaction. She stated, “To me, there was a lesson in that kind moment between the two of us. And it was that even as a journalist, if you can take your own ego out of it, if you can be quick to sort of get past these confrontations and these negative experiences, you can open up such possibility for yourself, you can open up a field of wellness, of positivity, of good relationships.”
She further added, “I just think it’s a testament to how people can change and people can rebuild relationships and people can move forward in a positive way.”
Kelly, who was working for Fox News at the time of the 2015 debate, recalled her question to Trump, where she addressed his derogatory remarks towards women. Trump responded by jokingly referring to Rosie O’Donnell and defending his straightforward communication style.
Positive Signs of Reconciliation
While discussing the current state of her relationship with Trump, Kelly expressed that she felt the feelings of making amends were reciprocated. She mentioned that Trump referred to her as “great” during his speech at the Turning Point Action conference, emphasizing that she wants the country to thrive.
Additionally, Kelly stated that although Trump was highly popular at the event, she believes that any GOP nominee would be a better choice than a candidate from the Left.
Looking Ahead
Kelly concluded by expressing her doubts about Trump’s attendance at the first GOP debate. Based on her conversation with him, she stated that she “wouldn’t bet on” his participation.

“I’ve made it pretty clear that I don’t see how you can vote for somebody on the other side who can’t say what a woman is, right, who’s trying to indoctrinate our children in backwards racial thinking, who wants children with body parts cut off before they hit age 18,” Kelly remarked. ”How can you vote for that? So it could be Donald Trump, could be Ron DeSantis, could be Tim Scott, could be Nikki Haley, all these people offering a vision that is much more clear-headed and positive for our country than what we’re seeing right now in the Left.”
