Podcast Host Megyn Kelly Picks Ron DeSantis as Standout Republican Candidate
During a recent forum hosted by Tucker Carlson in Iowa, podcast host Megyn Kelly expressed her belief that one Republican presidential candidate stood head and shoulders above the rest. The candidates who participated in the forum included Florida Governor
When asked about her thoughts on the candidates, Kelly responded to Daily Signal Senior Reporter Mary Margaret Olohan in Florida. She stated, ”I thought that was the best I’ve seen Ron DeSantis. I think DeSantis is starting to find his groove. He’s getting better at this. It was the best he’s done on Ukraine and a number of other issues.”
Kelly went on to share her opinions on the other candidates. She believed Hutchinson was done, while Scott and Haley had positive qualities but were not gaining traction in the polls. As for Ramaswamy, she felt he was ”falling flat on the inspirational front, even though that’s his main game.” Ultimately, Kelly declared DeSantis as the winner of the forum.
Although DeSantis’ campaign had a lackluster start with technical difficulties during a Twitter Spaces launch, Kelly acknowledged that it was still early in the race. She highlighted DeSantis’ substantial war chest of $150 million and expressed optimism about his potential. Kelly described him as a smart, technocratic ”get’er done” kind of guy, albeit lacking Trump’s charisma. She emphasized the importance of DeSantis engaging with adversarial liberal media and showcasing his combative nature, citing the example of Kari Lake, who gained popularity in the Republican Party through her confrontational interviews.
Encouraging DeSantis to follow a similar path, Kelly said, “He should get out there and fight. And you know what people love about Trump? He’s combative. He never backs down. He gets in your face. DeSantis has that too. He just hasn’t been putting himself in the situations where he could show it.”
