Megyn Kelly warns post-election ‘nuclear winter’ is coming – Washington Examiner
In an exclusive interview with the Washington Examiner, Megyn Kelly predicts a tumultuous period following the 2024 presidential election, irrespective of whether Donald Trump or Kamala Harris emerges victorious. She foresees a “nuclear winter,” characterized by chaos and divisiveness among supporters, as neither side may accept the election results without significant disparities. Kelly highlights the legal challenges Trump has faced, which she views as election interference, contributing to mistrust among voters. Despite anticipating difficult months ahead, she expresses hope for the nation’s future, suggesting a readiness for accountability in upcoming elections. Kelly, who has publicly endorsed Trump, will host a special election night show on SiriusXM, featuring prominent guests to discuss the results.
Megyn Kelly warns post-election ‘nuclear winter’ is coming
EXCLUSIVE — Megyn Kelly suggested the United States is in for an “ugly few months” following Tuesday’s 2024 presidential election, regardless of whether former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris win.
“I think we’re looking at nuclear winter,” Kelly told the Washington Examiner. “It’s going to be chaotic either way because if Kamala Harris wins, there is just zero chance Trump will accept it and go quietly into the night. And same for his supporters.”
“And if Donald Trump wins, the exact same thing is true of [Harris’s] supporters,” she continued, warning the need to be open-minded. “We can’t be in a situation where only if Trump wins or loses in a landslide, do we accept the result. You know, it can’t be OK that somebody’s got to pull away with 49 states for people to accept the results. These are impossible standards.”
The SiriusXM host of The Megyn Kelly Show noted that the legal battles Democrats have levied against Trump have only “complicated” voters trust.
“The law fare that’s been unleashed against him, which absolutely has been election interference — he’s been subjected to two years of election interference,” Kelly said. “So, it really is deeply unfair what they’ve done to him. And then they’ve used it. [Harris has] used it and her supporters have used it. So, that alone will lead the Trump base and his supporters to cry foul if he loses.”
Despite the anticipated tension following the election, Kelly said she has hope for the nation going forward.
“I think we’ll be fine. It’s going to be an ugly few months and then I’ll think we’ll be fine,” she said, adding that both Republicans and Democrats must maintain perspective that the midterm elections will be just two years away. “Whichever party wins, if they get out of control, they will have their hands slapped hard.”
Kelly will host The Megyn Kelly Show Election Night Special on SiriusXM and YouTube beginning at 8pm Eastern Tuesday.
Among those set to weigh in on the night’s election results with Kelly are Vivek Ramaswamy, Steve Bannon, Eric Bolling, and Ben Shapiro.
On Monday, Kelly joined Trump in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for one of his final rallies on the eve of the election. There she shared she chose to vote for Trump because he would be a “protector of women.”
“He got mocked by the Left for saying he would be a protector of women. He will be a protector of women and it is why I am voting for him. He will close the border. He will keep the boys out of girls sports and where they don’t belong,” Kelly told the rally’s crowd.

She also told the Washington Examiner that she “cannot stomach the thought” of Harris as president.
“What a god-awful president I think she would be. I think she is far too stupid to be president. I think she’s going to get us into a war that my 15-year-old will have to wind up fighting. I think she will set women back generations,” Kelly said.
