Megyn Kelly’s advice to working women angers mothers online
Talk show host Megyn Kelly attempted to motivate fellow working women but angered some women who decried her way of life for their own.
Kelly took to X Monday amid a flurry of women being appointed to President Donald Trump’s Cabinet.
“Ladies, it is possible to make your own money, have your own career, pay for your own swanky nyc apartment (etc), AND find a man who loves you, wants to have & raise kids w/you & wants to be w/you and only you,” Kelly wrote. “The only thing stopping you? Your decision to settle for less.”
“I respect @megynkelly and I’m a regular listener of her show— with that being said, this may be one of The most Toxic and Delusional posts I’ve seen all week. I’m a month out from giving birth and I have a toddler. I can assure you, I’m not in boss babe mode. I’m surviving, even with house help,” former One America News commentator Stephanie Hamill responded. “This type of post puts very unrealistic pressures on most mothers…”
“Not wanting to be a boss babe is not settling for less. My kids were raised by me, not a nanny or daycare. It’s ok to find a man who wants to provide for his family,” another user wrote, which prompted a personal response from Kelly.
“No one suggested otherwise. Try to keep up,” Kelly wrote.
“Love you Megyn but in NYC you can only have 2/3 maximum -Fulfilling Career -Livable Apartment -Happy Relationship,” another user wrote. “Adding ‘kids’ ‘swanky’ and ‘faithful husband’ in that Godless city is just greedy !”
“Young Megyn Kelly was a slim knockout and an extroverted, super-high-energy lawyer. That’s just not a plug-and-play formula for most women,” another user pointed out.
“I love you Megyn, but this sounds like an exhausting and unfulfilling existence,” one user wrote.
Still others agreed with Kelly.
“Very much Team Megyn and don’t quite understand how any of the below is controversial,” Fox News columnist Karol Markowicz wrote.
Kelly is fresh from helping Trump on the campaign trail, which culminated her speaking at his Victory Rally, an even on the eve of Trump’s inauguration, hosted at the Capital One Arena. She appeared with actor Jon Voight, former wrestler Hulk Hogan, UFC President Dana White, and Puerto Rican musicians Anuel AA and Justin Quiles.
