Melania Trump says there is ‘definitely more’ to assassination attempt on husband

Former first lady Melania Trump posted a rare video to social media Tuesday, criticizing law enforcement officers for not doing more to stop the July assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

Melania Trump has largely avoided publicly taking part in her husband’s 2024 White House bid but has helped organize several campaign fundraisers, including an April event at Mar-a-Lago with the Log Cabin Republicans.

Still, the majority of her recent social media posts have been plugging her forthcoming memoir, Melania, set to be published on Oct. 8 by Sky Publishing.

“The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience,” Melania Trump says in the video posted Tuesday morning. “Now, the silence around it feels heavy. I can’t help but wonder why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech. There is definitely more to this story, and we need to uncover the truth.”

Like her previous posts on X, the former first lady linked to her website, where her memoir, in addition to two pricier versions, is available for pre-order.

Melania is priced at $40, while a signed copy and a “Collector’s Edition,” which includes a signed photo of the former first lady and a digital collectible, are going for $75 and $250, respectively.
