Former first lady Melania Trump is set to appear at the Republican National Convention.

Two sources familiar with the matter told CNN that talks are underway as to the details, including whether she will speak or play a role at the convention. It will be her second public campaign appearance since its launch in November 2022.

Melania Trump has been largely absent from campaigning this election cycle, being almost completely absent through all of 2023 in order to care for her ailing mother, who died on Jan. 9. She made her first campaign appearance in March, appearing alongside her husband at a Florida voting location for the state primary. Speaking with reporters, she teased further involvement in the campaign.

“Stay tuned,” she told reporters when asked if she would be returning to the campaign trail, prompting a smile from former President Donald Trump.

She has attended some private campaign events, including a fundraiser for the LGBT Log Cabin Republicans group and an April fundraiser with investor John Paulson.

Donald and Melania Trump’s only son, Barron Trump, made his campaign debut Tuesday, appearing at a Miami rally. His father introduced him to roaring applause, which was noted by the former president as stronger than greetings for his other sons.

“That’s the first time he’s done it. That’s the first time, right? You’re pretty popular,” Donald Trump said. “He may be more popular than Don and Eric. We’ve got to talk about this. Hey, Don, we’ve got to talk about this, huh?”
