Meteorologist Janice Dean: Book Reviewers Won’t Touch My New Book Because I Work For Fox News
Meteorologist Janice Dean Sunday, she stated that several outlets had declined to review her book. “I Am the Storm,” Because she worked at Fox News.
Dean noted that among the outlets that had refused her latest book was Publishers Weekly — which had reviewed her previous books.
“Was just told that all the major publications that review books declined to review #IAmtheStorm because of where I work. This included @PublishersWkly which has reviewed all of my other books,” She tweeted.
It was also stated that @BNBuzz Books ordered for some stores, but not yet sent out. “A distribution issue.”

Dean also stated that she had been told that Barnes & Noble, a major book retailer, had ordered hard copies for certain locations but they hadn’t put them on display. She stated that this was because they had not put them out on display. “distribution issues.”
Dean pointed out that things got worse from there. “And @amazon put my price point on #IAmtheStorm at the highest $$ with no discount for a week which apparently unheard of. So yeah, I was screwed from the very beginning,” She added one caveat to her statement: “(P.S. I have all of this in writing.)”
(PS: All of this is in writing).

The Daily Wire received confirmation from Dean that her publicist had pitched all major trades and had not reviewed the book.
She also shared the news via Instagram. She said that it was particularly disheartening, given that the book is about people who overcome great odds and face incredible challenges.
“The theme of the book is striving to overcome the odds, which is fitting considering how difficult it’s been competing with people who don’t want these stories out there,” She said.
Charlie Gasparino replied to her comment by saying that he was treated similarly when his book was published.
“I can attest to this treatment; when I came to fox and wrote a mainstream book about financial fraud I was told some major newspapers passed on reviewing it because I was a ‘Fox guy,’” He stated.
However, the majority of responses were positive and Dean shared another post to thank everyone who stood by her.
“You all have made me feel so much better. Many of your comments have brought tears to my eyes. I wrote #IAmtheStorm to inspire and give hope. All the stories are about real life heroes that deserve their own books someday. If you can borrow it from a library or pass it along once you’ve read it to someone else to spread the sunshine that would make me so happy. Thank you all so much. I’m grateful and humbled,” She said.
