Miami Dolphins Cornerback Bryon Jones Warns NFL Players Against Medical Treatment: ‘I Can’t Run Or Jump’
Byron Jones, Miami Dolphins cornerback, warned NFL players to avoid taking part in the NFL’s weekend game “pills” And “injections,” He claimed that he suffered injuries from doing so that caused him severe pain and left him disabled.
Jones made the comments on Saturday, when he highlighted a NFL tweet from 2015 that featured Jones’ record setting leap at the NFL combine 2015.
“Much has changed in 8 years. Today I can’t run or jump because of my injuries sustained playing this game,” Jones tweeted. “DO NOT take the pills they give you. DO NOT take the injections they give you. If you absolutely must, consult an outside doctor to learn the long-term implications.”
“It was an honor and privilege to play in the NFL but it came at a regrettable cost I did not foresee,” He went on. “In my opinion, no amount of professional success or financial gain is worth avoidable chronic pain and disabilities. Godspeed to the draft class of 2023.”
While it was an honor and privilege for me to play in NFL, it also came with a terrible price that I didn’t expect. I believe that no amount of financial success or professional success is worth the risk of chronic pain and disability. Godspeed to the 2023 draft class.

Jones was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round in 2015. He eventually settled in Miami where he signed an $82 million five-year deal to be one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
He suffered an Achilles tendon and ankle injury that required surgery. Last season, he did not participate.
Barry Jackson, Miami Herald reporter, downplayed rumors Jones was going away or that there would be a lawsuit.
“In wake of today’s tweets… Byron Jones is not retiring and there’s no pending lawsuit, per source,” Jackson spoke. “With his 14.4 M salary non guaranteed, the general expectation is he will be cut by Dolphins with post June 1 designation. But nothing has been settled on that front.”
