Cohen is the only person who can testify to the hush-money scheme. According to The New York TimesBecause Daniels has not yet testified in the case, it is unlikely that he will. His testimony is expected to be completed next week and Trump has been invited to testify. It seems likely that Alvin Bragg, Manhattan District Attorney, will finish his case before asking for a grand jury to indict Trump.
New York law allows defendants in an investigation to testify before the grand jury. However, they are rarely allowed to do so. Trump is unlikely to appear before the grand jury.
