Michelle Obama: ‘There Were 10 Years Where I Couldn’t Stand My Husband’
In an interview with this month’s former first lady Michelle Obama, she revealed that she couldn’t stand former President Barack Obama for 10 years during their early years of marriage.
Michelle Obama made these remarks during an interview Revolt TV: “People think I’m being catty for saying this: it’s like, there were 10 years where I couldn’t stand my husband.”
“And guess when it happened? When those kids were little,” She explained that the little children were her inspiration. “have demands. They don’t talk. They’re poor communicators. They cry all the time. They’re irrational. They’re needy. And you love them more than anything. And so you can’t blame them. So you turn that ire on each other.”
“For 10 years while we’re trying to build our careers and worrying about school and who’s doing what and what, I was like, ‘Argh, this isn’t even!’” Obama said. “And guess what? Marriage isn’t 50/50, ever. Ever. There are times I’m 70, he’s 30. There are times he’s 60, 40. But guess what? Ten years. We’ve been married 30. I would take 10 bad years over 30 — it’s just how you look at it. People give up — ‘Five years; I can’t take it.’”
Former first lady stated that she could get mad at her husband, but she noted that she respected him. “kind, smart person.”
Michelle said last month that she believes Americans are racist, and that they weren’t ready for her to become first lady. She also suggested that she doesn’t think she can wear braids because she didn’t believe she could.
“As black women, we deal with it, the whole thing about do you show up with your natural hair,” Obama made these remarks during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres (Hollywood celebrity) this week. “As first lady, I did not wear braids. Being the first … yeah, we had to ease up on the people. Cause I thought about it. I was like, it would be easier. Nope, nope. They’re not ready.”
“Let me keep my hair straight,” Michelle Obama said. “Let’s get health care passed.”
