Mike Johnson knocks Biden administration as president begins another beach vacation – Washington Examiner
House Speaker Mike Johnson criticized President Joe Biden and his administration for what he perceives as a lack of leadership during “the most dangerous time since World War II.” This statement comes as Biden begins a beach vacation in Rehoboth, Delaware, following a short stay in California. Johnson condemned both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their absence of accountability, referencing speeches delivered at the Democratic National Convention, which he claims are detached from reality. He accused them of misleading the American people and emphasized the importance of making informed decisions based on facts rather than rhetoric. Additionally, Johnson expressed concern over Harris’s presidential ambitions, asserting that adversaries do not fear her as they do Biden. He argued for the necessity of Donald Trump in the White House, claiming he commands respect and fear from foreign adversaries. Harris has recently been named the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nominee after Biden announced he would not seek re-election.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) criticized President Joe Biden and the Biden administration’s lack of leadership, warning the world is in the most dangerous time “since World War II.”
Biden went to California for a little less than a week after his speech at the Democratic National Convention, and he is spending the next week in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, according to the White House. The speaker contended that Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who is running for president, have “no shame” for their lack of leadership while in office, referencing the speeches delivered by Democrats at the DNC last week.
“They’re engaging in fantasy over fact,” Johnson said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends. “We got to make sure people understand, you can’t make an emotional decision here. You have got to make a decision based on the record and not the rhetoric. They’re saying things that are patently untrue. They’re gaslighting the American people, and they expect that, I guess, the people are not intelligent enough to figure this out.”
Johnson also issued a warning against Harris’s presidential bid, arguing the United States’s adversaries fear her less than they fear Biden. He referenced the growing number of wars that have happened under Biden’s watch and said his leadership has created “the most dangerous time since World War II.”
“You’ve got to have Donald Trump in the White House. He’s the one they fear and respect,” Johnson said.
Harris became the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nominee last week after Biden announced last month he would no longer continue his reelection bid. The president was facing polling numbers that put his opponent, former President Donald Trump, ahead of him.
During Johnson’s appearance, the House speaker revealed he would be giving the Congressional Gold Medal to the families of the 13 service members killed during a suicide bombing at a Kabul airport. Monday marked the third anniversary of the bombing, which occurred during the Biden administration’s Afghanistan withdrawal.
Last month, Johnson visited the southern border to criticize Harris’s handling of border security, stating she “bears responsibility for this disaster.” Border security and illegal immigration have been major talking points among Republicans in the 2024 election cycle.
