Mike Pence makes the cut for GOP debate.
Former Vice President Mike Pence Qualifies for 2024 GOP Presidential Nomination Debate
Exciting news! Former Vice President Mike Pence has officially met the requirements to participate in the first primary debate for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination. His campaign recently announced that they have surpassed 40,000 individual donors, a crucial milestone set by the Republican National Committee. This achievement, along with polling at least 1% nationally, solidifies Pence’s position as the eighth candidate to qualify for the debate, making him a strong contender.
The Four Democrats Who Could Challenge Biden in the 2024 Election
If former President Donald Trump agrees to attend the debate, it could potentially lead to a face-off between Pence and his former boss. This would be their first encounter since their falling out. The stage in Milwaukee will also feature seven other GOP candidates who have met the necessary conditions to participate. These candidates include Trump, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND).
While there is another candidate, Perry Johnson, who claims to have reached the 40,000 donor threshold, he has not yet polled at least 1% on any national polls. However, there is still a chance for former Republican Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson to join the eight candidates on stage. Although he has met the polling qualification, he currently has support from 20,000 donors, with half of that coming in the past two weeks. Hutchinson remains optimistic and believes he can make up the difference before the debate on Aug 23.
