Mike Rowe responds to criticism of his involvement in women’s rights by asserting his right to speak out on the issue.
Mike Rowe Fires Back at Critics, Defends Free Speech and Women’s Rights
Mike Rowe, the beloved host of “Dirty Jobs,” recently found himself facing criticism after expressing support for conservative podcast host Megyn Kelly. In response, Rowe took to Facebook to address the backlash and defend his stance.
It all started when Kelly warned Apple against de-platforming her for her views on women’s spaces and transgender rights. Rowe shared a video of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” where she vowed to march against Apple’s policies if they removed her from their platform.
Rowe stood with Kelly and his followers, who agreed that the underlying issues of free speech and women’s rights were worth defending. However, one response told Rowe to “stay in your lane” and accused him of pandering to a brainwashed faction.
In response, Rowe challenged the critic to share actual thoughts on the right to speak freely and the right for women to compete fairly. He emphasized that these were the issues at hand, not personal feelings about Kelly or himself.
Rowe made it clear that he would stand with anyone who was muzzled by a big tech company for supporting women’s rights. He also defended Kelly, stating that even if he disagreed with her, he would still support her right to speak freely and her daughter’s right to use a locker room free of biological men.
Rowe addressed the notion that he, as a man, shouldn’t have an opinion on women’s issues. He compared it to the historical oppression of women and minorities, stating that silencing those with differing opinions without offering an argument is a convenient way to avoid meaningful discussion.
" Conservative News Daily does not always share or support the views and opinions expressed here; they are just those of the writer."
