Miley Cyrus Dragged On Twitter For Being Chummy With Elon Musk
On the eve of Miley Cyrus and Elon Musk’s scheduled appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” the famed pop singer is getting dragged on social media because she dared to be chummy with the eccentric billionaire for a few moments instead of denouncing him like the sketch show’s cast members.
As The Daily Wire reported, the heads of “Saturday Night Live” announced this week that cast members will not be forced to appear alongside Elon Musk when he hosts the show on May 1st, after select members of the cast raised an objection to his somewhat populist, politically incorrect persona.
NBC announced on April 24 that Musk, 49, would co-host the show with Miley Cyrus, becoming the first nonactor or nonathlete to host the show since Donald Trump in 2015 and prompting Musk to tweet mockingly, “Let’s find out just how live ‘Saturday Night Live’ really is.”
The news of Musk hosting apparently triggered the cast; Bowen Yang blurted, “What the f *** does this even mean,” in an Instagram Story post. Aidy Bryant reacted by reposting a tweet by Sen. Bernie Sanders that called it a “moral obscenity” that “the 50 wealthiest people in America today own more wealth than the bottom half of our people.”
SNL writer Andrew Dismukes posted on Instagram: “Only CEO I want to do a sketch with is Cher-E Oteri.”
On Friday, Miley Cyrus got caught up in the hate-fest after she cheerfully responded to Musk’s retweet of meme that featured him swinging on a wrecking ball — a reference Miley’s famed music video.
“Might be something there haha,” Musk said in response to the meme, to which Miley commented, “I’m down if you are! #MileyAndMusk to the moon!”

For Twitter trolls, Miley’s friendliness with Elon Musk was just a bridge too far and they blasted her for it.
From Fox News:
Fans were none too pleased to see Cyrus’ chummy response to Musk online.
“Delete this we will pretend that we didn’t see,” one fan replied to the stars.
“Miley please you don’t have to pretend to like him,” another wrote.
“No thanks we only want miley,” another said, criticizing Musk’s upcoming appearance.
Another Twitter user asked Cyrus to not “associate” herself with Musk.
“Bestieeeee it’s not too late delete this,” another told the “Prisoner” singer.
“this is so embarrassing for u miley…,” one person responded.
While Elon Musk can in no way be classified as a conservative, he has rejected the woke orthodoxy espoused by much of America’s tech billionaire class, from his sharp criticism of the COVID-19 protocols to his welcoming of populist dissent. In 2020, for instance, he rocked the halls of the Twitterverse when he said “take the red pill” and “cancel cancel culture.” Prior to that, as billionaires like Bill Gates and others were actively pushing population control measures in the third world as a way to address climate change, Musk went against the grain and said the world actually needs more people on the planet, not less.
“The world’s population is accelerating towards collapse, but few seem to notice or care,” he tweeted in 2017 in response to a New Scientist article about a “population bomb” going off in 2076.
“Real issue will [be] an aging & declining world population by 2050, *not* overpopulation,” he tweeted in 2019. “Demographics, stratified by age, will look like an upside down pyramid with many old people & fewer young.”
