Misgendering against YouTube rules, but exposing genitals allowed.
YouTube Prioritizes “Misgendering” Over Explicit Content
YouTube has sparked controversy by allowing uncensored footage of male genitalia while cracking down on “misgendering.” This decision has raised questions about the platform’s priorities and its commitment to free speech.
On July 2, a video titled “Removing BUTT HAIRS Using NAIR Cream – A Visual Guide!” by “gay sex educator” Kevin Leonardo gained attention on Twitter. In the video, Leonardo exposes his testicles and anus while demonstrating the use of the mentioned products.
sorry to hear this! have you already reported this content? if not, the first step is to do that here: https://t.co/XBYch5Glr1 thank you!

The video, posted on June 25, quickly went viral, accumulating 14 million views and receiving over 167,000 dislikes. Despite the widespread disgust and backlash, YouTube’s Team YouTube responded to the user who reported the video, stating that it did not violate their community guidelines. However, they did restrict the video to adult viewers only.
while we understand your frustration, it’s important for us to maintain a balance between free speech and protecting our community, so content that doesn’t violate our policies will remain up. thanks for understanding

YouTube defended their decision, claiming that they aim to balance free speech with community protection. However, this stance seems contradictory when compared to their strict enforcement of policies against “misgendering.”
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, a prominent figure, experienced YouTube’s selective enforcement firsthand. One of his podcasts was deemed to violate YouTube’s terms of service policy and was removed from the platform. The conversation between Dr. Peterson and women’s rights advocate Helen Joyce discussed the impact of gender ideology on Western civilization and the dangers of a growing transhumanist ideology.
YouTube @YouTube justifies its utterly inexcusable pernicious invisible self-righteous and counterproductive censorship…

YouTube’s community guidelines team justified their actions by claiming their responsibility to maintain a safe platform for all users. However, this commitment to safety appears to be selective, as other podcasts and videos from The Daily Wire, including “The Matt Walsh Show,” have faced restrictions and demonetization for covering the trans debate.
1/14 Over the last few months, @realDailyWire has received ~200 violations from @YouTube across our accounts for @MattWalshBlog, @benshapiro, @RealCandaceO, @michaeljknowles, @jordanbpeterson, @andrewklavan, and @imbrettcooper.
Almost all are over coverage of the trans debate. 🧵— Jeremy Boreing (@JeremyDBoreing) June 11, 2023
While YouTube continues to face criticism for its inconsistent enforcement, Kevin Leonardo’s channel remains unaffected, even gaining more popularity due to the controversy. This discrepancy raises concerns about YouTube’s commitment to fair and unbiased content moderation.
Dr. Peterson aptly summarized the situation, stating, “Your woke corporate overlords think you’re too stupid to separate wheat from chaff yourselves.”
