Miss Italy has declared that men are not permitted and will not support trans activism.
Miss Italy Beauty Pageant Bans Transgender Contestants
The Miss Italy beauty pageant has made headlines by announcing that only biological females are eligible to compete in its annual competition. In a bold move, the pageant organizers have stated that contestants must ”be a woman from birth.”
Miss Italy Official Patron Patrizia Mirigliani has firmly stated that the competition will not succumb to the pressures of trans activism. In an interview with Radio Cusano, Mirigliani emphasized that the pageant will not “jump on the glittery bandwagon” of this movement, as reported by The Blaze.

Mirigliani expressed her frustration with beauty contests that resort to “absurd” strategies to gain attention. She believes that the original intention of beauty pageants was to celebrate natural beauty, and she wants to uphold that tradition.
This decision comes in the wake of the Miss Netherlands contest, where a trans-identifying male, Rikki Valerie Kolle, was crowned the winner. This outcome has sparked controversy and debate, with many questioning the fairness of allowing a person assigned male at birth to compete against women.

While some applaud the inclusivity of allowing transgender individuals to participate in beauty pageants, others argue that it undermines the essence of these competitions. Critics argue that a person assigned male at birth should not be eligible to compete in a female beauty pageant.
Kolle, the winner of Miss Netherlands, will now represent the country in the 2023 Miss Universe competition. It is worth noting that the Miss Universe competition is owned by a trans-identifying male.

Kolle expressed disappointment with the Miss Italy decision, as reported by Newsweek. The debate surrounding transgender inclusion in beauty pageants continues to be a contentious issue, with different countries and organizations taking varying stances.
In the United States, the Miss USA pageant allowed its first trans-identifying male entrant from Nevada in 2021. However, the Miss United States of America beauty contest won a case in a U.S. appeals court in 2022, affirming its right to exclude trans-identifying males as contestants.
