Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves Highlights Record-Low Unemployment in Bid for Second Term
Mississippi’s Republican Governor, Tate Reeves, is proudly showcasing the state’s record-low unemployment rate as he seeks re-election for a second term. Reeves is currently facing two challengers from within his own party in the upcoming gubernatorial primary on August 8.
A Democratic Opponent with a Familiar Name
Meanwhile, on the Democratic side, Brandon Presley, a distant cousin of the legendary Elvis Presley, is running unopposed in the primary.
“I am proud of the progress we have made in Mississippi, particularly in our efforts to reduce unemployment to historic lows,” Reeves stated confidently.
As the race heats up, both the 49-year-old Governor Reeves and his 46-year-old Democratic opponent, Mr. Presley, are actively engaging with voters and making their case for why they should lead the state.
