Missouri child transition ban sends message to medical establishment: Andrew Bailey

Missouri’s Child Protection Laws Take Effect, Sending ⁣a Warning to the Medical Establishment

As Missouri’s restrictions on child genital ⁤mutilation and chemical ‌castration come into force, state Attorney General Andrew Bailey sees this as a judicial⁣ “warning shot” to the ‌American medical establishment.

The Show Me State recently passed laws ⁢prohibiting doctors from prescribing puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and genital mutilation ‌surgeries for children. These laws also establish avenues to sue doctors and put⁣ their medical licenses⁢ at risk.

A Rare Win in Transgender‍ Ban Litigation

Bailey’s office achieved a⁢ significant victory in court on Friday⁣ when a judge denied a motion to block the laws from ⁤taking effect during ongoing litigation. This⁤ is a⁢ rare feat in transgender ban litigation, making Missouri the first state to successfully defeat a trial⁤ court injunction.

“The science and medical evidence is conflicting and unclear,” wrote⁢ Missouri Circuit⁢ Court Judge Stephen R. Ohmer. “Accordingly, the evidence raises more questions than answers.”

Bailey, who has made child protection a⁣ top priority since taking office, stated, “It’s left-wing ideology masquerading as ⁣medicine, and I think we’ve begun to smoke that out.”

“This is a huge win‌ for protecting children⁢ in the state of Missouri,” he⁣ added. “I want Missouri to be the safest state in the nation for children.”

Challenging ‍Medical Professionals’ Expertise

Ohmer’s ruling also lends legitimacy to elected officials ‍challenging the “expertise”‌ of medical‌ professionals who‌ use their credentials to defend their opinions. Bailey believes this victory is based on counterevidence brought to court, which contradicts the ‍American medical⁢ establishment’s claim that⁣ gender transitions for children‌ are medically necessary and safe.

Bailey’s office⁢ presented evidence that many of the drugs prescribed for children’s medical interventions are not approved by the Food and‍ Drug Administration. He also highlighted the American Medical Association’s differential⁢ treatment of gender dysphoria⁣ compared ⁣to ⁣other psychological disorders.

Questioning Medical Expertise

Bailey ⁢argues that the capacity for ⁢regulators to question medical expertise is not unprecedented, citing historical examples such as lobotomies for mental ‍health patients. He believes that history will judge the current ⁤practices of child transition in ⁤a ‌similar⁤ light.

He also points to the questionable medical‌ determinations made by ⁣officials like Dr. Anthony Fauci, which have fueled skepticism and reliance on self-proclaimed experts.

Shifting Legal Landscape

Bailey sees the⁤ courtroom as the appropriate venue to decide these issues, as ⁤it aims to uncover the truth and veracity⁣ of certain claims. He⁣ notes‍ that the national legal landscape is shifting ⁢in favor of bans⁣ on these ⁢procedures, citing a recent U.S. appeals court decision ⁢reinstating a similar Alabama law.

Putting the Pro-Child Transition Side on Display

Bailey’s‍ focus is ⁢on exposing⁣ the pro-child transition side by challenging ⁣their reliance on weak scientific⁢ studies and ignoring evidence from Europe that ⁣highlights the dangerous long-term⁣ health consequences of these⁣ procedures.

Continued Court Battle

While ‍Missouri’s⁢ laws are still being challenged in court, they will be enforced during the trial. The court has ⁣already stated that‍ the challengers⁢ are unlikely to succeed due to the lack of scientific evidence. Children who‍ have already begun medical⁣ intervention will be allowed to continue.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri has vowed to ‌continue the court battle, ‍stating that the case is not⁢ over and ⁤will proceed to a full trial on the merits.
