More Classified Material Found At Trump’s Home, Was ‘Electronically Copied’ Onto A Laptop: Report
Find more classified material at the former President Donald Trump’s His legal team reportedly handed over his Florida home to federal law enforcement officers last month.
ABC News reported in January that a folder with classified markings had been found at Mar-a-Lago. It wasn’t clear what information was contained in the folder.
The classified material was found as Trump’s team was searching the property for more classified documents amid the federal criminal investigation into the former president’s handling of classified material and government records.
According to the report, the classified material found in Mar-a-Lago was not in the storage facility where federal law enforcement officials discovered hundreds of classified documents last August during a raid of the property.
James Trusty, Trump’s attorney, reportedly handed the newly discovered classified material over to federal law enforcement officers and informed them. “it had been electronically copied to a laptop of a current Trump aide.”
Later, federal agents seized the laptop from the aide.
John Cohen, an ex-acting undersecretary for intelligence in the Department of Homeland Security, stated that in situations like this investigators will search the computer to check if any classified material remains on it. “was transmitted electronically to other computers or devices via that computer.”
