Public Opinion on‌ Trump’s Actions in Georgia

An Associated ‌Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs ⁤Research poll reveals that 51% of respondents believe Trump acted ⁣illegally in Georgia. Only 15% believe he did nothing wrong,‍ while 13% consider his actions unethical‍ but not ⁢illegal.

Trump’s Alleged‍ Actions and Indictment

Trump’s alleged actions in Georgia⁣ led​ to an indictment of 13 ⁤counts under the state’s Racketeer⁣ Influenced and⁤ Corrupt Organizations Act. ⁣Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis accused Trump and his co-conspirators of attempting to “seize the presidential term of office” illegally. Willis made these allegations during a late-night‍ press ⁣conference on Monday.

Public Perception of Other⁢ Criminal Charges Against Trump

When asked about ⁤other‌ criminal charges against Trump, the poll found that 53% believe his mishandling ‌of classified documents was illegal, 47% believe his involvement in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was illegal, and 34% believe his alleged hush ‌money payments in Manhattan before the 2016 election were illegal. These⁣ actions are the subject of indictments in federal courts in ⁣Florida, Washington, D.C., and Manhattan, respectively.

Opinions on ⁤Trump’s Indictment in ⁢Washington

Regarding the Justice Department’s indictment of Trump in Washington for his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election, 53% of respondents approved of the‍ indictment,‍ with 41% strongly approving and 29% disapproving.

Trump’s Approval Rating and 2024 Presidential ⁢Campaign

Trump’s approval‍ rating remains low, with 62% of surveyed adults viewing him unfavorably and only 35% viewing him favorably. When asked ​about Trump’s potential 2024 presidential campaign, 53% said they would​ definitely not support him, while 11% would​ probably not ​support ‌him, 15% would probably support him, and 21% ​would definitely ‌support him. In comparison, ‌only 43% said they would definitely not support President Joe ‍Biden, Trump’s likely opponent⁣ in a general election.

Trump currently leads the Republican primary race, with Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in second place, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average.
