President-elect Donald Trump continues to enjoy a honeymoon with the public, a majority of whom feel his transition is going well and his Cabinet picks are sure to win Senate approval.

In two postelection polls released this week, Trump’s transition is getting a thumbs-up, as are most of his Cabinet choices.

In Thursday’s latest Rasmussen Reports survey shared with Secrets, the president-elect’s MAGA base is ecstatic with his choices and believes that the Senate will bow to Trump’s wishes.

Overall, Rasmussen found that 50% feel Trump is doing a good to excellent job filling his administration. And 74% feel that most of his picks will be confirmed.

Among Republicans, they agree, and then some. The analysis showed that 83% feel the president-elect’s team is doing a good job filling top staff and Cabinet positions. And 89% believe he will get who he wants through the Senate confirmation process.

The Republican numbers are key as Trump quickly names top members to his team, a few of whom are controversial, including Pete Hegseth, chosen as the Pentagon chief, and former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, chosen as director of national intelligence. His most controversial pick, former Rep. Matt Gaetz, nominated for attorney general, withdrew from consideration on Thursday.

The Rasmussen survey followed another that showed the public supporting Trump’s picks. A Morning Consult survey out Tuesday put the public’s support of Trump’s effort at 54%.

And that survey suggested that Republicans who stand in the way could face choppy political waters.

“The president-elect is enjoying some initial deference from the American people about the way he’s handling his transition and the names he’s choosing to fill his government,” the survey said.

The analysis added: “For Republican senators, Trump’s standing and the popularity of his nominees with the Republican base they’re so focused on leaves little political incentive to defy the incoming president.”
